This years winter has been eagerly anticipated. Though global warming appears to have delayed the snow during ski season. If last year is any indication, though the white powdery flakes came late, they came with reckless abandone. Jenn and I spent last Christmas in Tahoe and the amenities were great, but the snow was non-existent. In fact, there was not a single flake on the ground until the day we left - murphy's law. Over the next few months, Tahoe was packed in with over 22 feet of snow by the end of the season. This year expects to be different. The bay area has been hit by a series of seemingly endless storms which can only mean one thing - SNOW!!! AND LOTS OF IT... This just in -- Christmas is cancelled for all us would be skiers and snowboarders. There appears to be enough percipitation but the warm weather is causing more rain than snow. Apparantly snow that was there a week ago is all gone. The following therefore is now moot. Thanks to Nate for the quote. Also, Lombardi Sports finally got the discount lift tickets - looks like Squaw a nd Heavenly (or overpriced and overcrowded suckfest as I like to call it) are 40% off. Remember to sign up for the free membership online first. Have fun and be safe kids. |
